And yet, the recent presidents we've had that haven't served have been less willing to send our troops in harm's way than those that have served...

Neither FDR nor Abe Lincoln had served in the military, yet they knew what going to war would entail. You don't have to be a veteran to understand that it's a tough decision that will end up hurting and causing damage to many people and their loved ones.
