As a native San Diegan, I appreciate it, but you saw it as a tourist. It's not that great. It's far more interesting and diverse in Los Angeles.

I lived in San Diego for the first thirty years of my life, and I've lived in Los Angeles half that time. Speaking from experience, I like it much better here. A greater variety and quality of food (though the Mexican stuff is better in SD), more interesting cultural scene, more diversity in communities, more films, more everything. San Diego features better Mexican food, Comic Con, and nice weather that isn't really THAT different from the weather here.

San Diego is so clean and sanitized that I refuse to believe people actually live in it and it's actually just a model city maintained by a very meticulous collector.

Southern California freaks me out in general weatherwise, I don't know how we're connected to the same ocean but your part doesn't make it cold. It ain't right, I tellz ya...it ain't right. Like seriously, your lowest average day time temperature for the year is the average temperature for summer in San Francisco. Same fucking ocean. We're only like 300 or 400 miles away (I don't feel like looking it up)...and like I can get as far as San Simeon and it's still nice a chilly at the coast. But not the LA basin and beyond, oh no. It's weird man. Weird.

OC/LA's weather is bizarre to say the least...I mean it could be cloudy one day and the next it is 90 degrees...or rain one day and then the next it is 100...

To be honest, I don't really care for this whole Anime Expo/Comic con thing, been to Anime Expo once, found it less interesting than the Tanabata thing they hold in Little Tokyo.

Not everyone likes anime and it is about the costumes more then the subject matter of said con...

kind of like how when you get older you realize the magic of Halloween is dressing up and not so much the candy...

you can buy candy any day, just like anime can be watched any time, but getting an excuse to dress up like your favorite character/person is always rare...

Let's get back from this discussion on musical taste, no matter how lovely it may be, and get to the question, why are some people trying to pretend that the Confederate flag is anything but a racist rag which is usually flow up to bait "PC liberals" and people who are offended by a symbol of slavery and oppression of an entire race?

As I made mention before...The KKK ruined the image of the flag and got it a racist reputation...

Ask any foreigner about the flag and they will say it is a symbol of rebellion...it is due to that person not knowing about the KKK...

I'm an immigrant and pretty much every foreigner I've met associates the flag with the CSA and the CSA as supporters of slavery. It's both a symbol for rebellion and racism.
