The USA are creeping toward fascism. It's the best county in the world if you are a WASP upper-class proponent of financial aristocracy. For the majority of the Americans, the USA is a stressfull environment.

Because you totally speak on the behalf of 300 million people, except for the rich ones.

No. It's workers are treated like shit, as are its veterans and ethnic minorities, racism and prejudice is still prevalent and the country is dominated by a bunch of perverse old fuckers still trying to cling onto theocratic laws "because Jesus". America's education system is one of the worst in the developed world, as is its healthcare system which is one of the primary causes of bankruptcies of American households and millions of people live in poverty with a state government that largely doesn't give a fuck or is under the influence of the few and wealthy.

Still think it is great? I don't. I live in a country where healthcare is "socialized", has one of the best education systems, pays nearly twice as much to workers as part of the minimum wage, is much safer, cleaner and was recently voted the freest country in the world.

I am unhappy to report you that I must temporarily leave the internet. I hope that teenagers will not overwhelm this forum with their bolshevik lack of grammar.

It depends how you see it. But it is much, much better than lots of countries. Sadly, stereotypes blind many people in the world (not to mention some of the replies here), thus making it not look like a "good" country, but more of a 10th century China.

No. It is a lovely country and is often very generous, but I do not think it is quite the best country in the world.

America as a country is fairly divided. I'd say America is one of the best countries to be rich or middle-class in, but it's a rather awful country for those who aren't born into good economic circumstances. And the class issues are getting worse, not better.

A bit of an irony considering the 'American Dream' and how America was held as the 'land of opportunity' in the past. :(

Of course not. I would personally choose Sweden or Finland as best countries. or maybe Norway.

If we can learn that "pull yourself up by the bootstraps, the free market always works" is an absolutely incorrect statement, and start instituting social welfare reform, we could get somewhere.

No, of course not.

You can't even objectively say that a particular country is the best country in the world, anyway.

"Greatest" is, again, subjective. You may think other things make a nation great than I do. I'll agree with "most important", though.
