It's a pretty simple question, would you prefer to eat out of trashcans to survive or take food stamps from the government? There's no third option here, just like there's no third option in real life because nobody wants to hire homeless people.

I made my parents hire a homeless man as our gardener. We pay him $12.00 an hour. He's happy.

Hmm...

Well, first off I'd find a residence of operations, more than like my mother's basement parent's house, that is if they allow me. Luckily, you only said money, home and job, so I'd more than likely be keeping my car, clothes and handguns, a Smith and Wesson and Taurus, and my fists. My job, using what I have, would be an 'under-the-table' self-employed contractor, working for whoever can pay for my services when I advertise them.

Or, at least, what I think would net me some money

Okay, okay. I think I stated that poorly.

If you found yourself in the same situation as most who rely on food stamps, what would you do? That means few possessions, probably no weapons, no reliable family support structure. You have a truck, but no money for gas. You have clothes, but you have to keep them in your truck, and no money for laundry. Also no access to a shower.

Trashcan or food stamps?

Exploitation is a lovely thing.

So, let's see here: Running on food stamps, no money, have a truck, but no gas, have more than likely some basic pairs of clothing: Shirt, pants and a jacket. Have no weapons, save for my fists, and no available family. No access to running water.

Sell my truck, get enough for a ticket to go to Africa and become a Somalian pirate.
Legalize owning RPG's and nuclear weapons, reinstate hanging, add in burning meat grinders, stop giving shits for airplane crashes, shut the fuck up about banning guns, the south will NOT rise again, you are just ignorant, look down on the poor, modify genetics so fat kids taste like bacon, cats are better than dogs, if you don't like what's going on in the middle east, fix it yourself, Obama is a good president, just a bad Congress, MLP is a kickass show.

I have too much common sense to be stupid and eat out of a trashcan.

Anyways, I'm writing up my response to Yumyum's question. SIt tight.

You do understand that by sitting tight, you're essentially doing nothing to get out of the situation that you're in, right? And that sitting tight only works for so long before hunger overwhelms you?

Yep, he does an excellent job. My head housekeeper gets paid $66,000.00 a year. She does wonderfully. They're all live in's too.

It's not about the trashcan, the trashcan is a metaphor. It's a metaphor for living real tough on the streets relying on panhandling to get you to your next meal. This is a very simple question with a very obvious conclusion but still one you apparently insist on giving stupid answers to.

Neat. First off, you're going to need to eat while waiting for a buyer. Second, you're not becoming a fucking pirate, and you know it. It's okay if you don't want to take the hypothetical situation seriously, but it does reflect on your ability to actually comprehend what real poverty is.

I have no problem with the rich being rich. Especially if they worked hard.

But is it really okay for there to be many millionaires when some people are homeless and without food?

People will say...they can find a job. But, that is not the case. One who is destitute will find life tough, and opportunities invisible. They need public support to find those opportunities. That's not "dependency." That's helping out!

I probably did more dicking around than not thinking about my response, I'll have to go back and think out my plan this time. I'll probably go write out a doc or something to give me something to jot ideas down on.

As privileged kid from the Philippines, who moved here and spent half of my life here, I will say this.

I think that America is a great country, but there is plenty it could do better. The only thing it does better than some real well countries is viewing its pasts, which some countries would just rather forget and erase completely, kinda like Japan about WWII. Here it's talked about what the country was doing wrong more openly.

Health care could be better, tolerance about religion and LGBT rights could be better, gun laws could be more secure, the military could a little better, and a lot more could do better. The one thing that gets in my nerve is the fact that the two major parties attempt to purposely sabotage each other, so that they can have a better handle on the population, but it really isn't helping anybody.

So to directly answer the question, no, but it is an okay existence living here.

Perhaps if America had more patriotism in its citizens, then maybe it will fare better in terms of economy, more trust to the government.

Patriotism is what sometimes gets us into some deep shit. That and yellow journalism.

Yellow Journalism was meant to aggravate the people.

Patriotism doesn't automatically do that............

America should go through another period of isolationism! Oh wait that won't work anymore will it?...... :meh:
