Christianity has mysticism. There's Lectio Divina, Hesychasm, Contemplative Prayer, etc...

On another note, why should Christianity change to gain popularity?

No doubt for some man-centered reason.

Michael would also seem to be younger, though I see why you picked Sean Bean, because he looks tough.
And I think John Wayne is dead. Though he WOULD be legit. I love John Wayne.
Angelina Jolie would work pretty well for that role, I think. She's good at playing seductive characters.
Scarlett is cool...I was thinking Saorise Ronan? (HOW COULD I FORGET THE BLESSED VIRGIN?!?! WOW! Thank you for reminding me!)

I see Gabriel as a tough dude, like maybe Bruce Willis or Clint Eastwood. When other angels show up they usually say "fear not", but when Zacharias doubts Gabe's message about the pending birth of John the Baptist, Gabe roars: "I AM GABRIEL!" and zaps the man with a curse of silence.

I like that scene.

I mean, Daniel did pass out twice, when he saw Gabriel, in the Book of Daniel.

Sure, all the angels are tough and awesome. At the same time, though, I've always seen him as...you know...he's beautiful, young, handsome (probably because I'm a girl and a romantic)...and he starts out as gentle (like he was with Mary)...then, if you get him mad, he goes, "I AM GABRIEL! And you didn't listen to me! So guess what, you can't speak now!" Boom!

Raphael would be the cheery, more talkative one. Not that Gabriel isn't cheery, but I've always seen him as quiet, unless you get him mad. Plus, Raphael talked a lot in the Book of Tobit. And he kicked the demon's butt. (Gosh, I love that book.)

Michael doesn't really talk that much, but that's because he lets his sword do the talking. Any time he shows up...CRUD GETS REAL. O.o

There is a manga version of the Bible.

They're even making a manga of the Quran.

Yep, but a shonen one, with fights and with it's archetypal characters, like Marie as "a loli", Samson as "the bad guy which is in fact a good guy when you know him better"; Salomon as "the wise guy"; Jesus as the "Main Character", etc,etc... I think we could even put some yandere character...
I'm pretty sure that if someone create manga like dat, the church frequentation'll double... :)

Ahhh...I...highly doubt it...Um...hmmm...

But yeah, if I could make a shonen manga on the Bible, you know how fast I would do it? DUDE. It would be AWESOME.

(Sure, I'm a girl, but I grew up with shonen manga more than shoujo. So a shonen manga would be LEGIT.)

That's been done, but I have to wonder if they also included those books Protestants leave out.

I know, right?

That's interesting. Then again, most shoujo (MOST...there are a few exceptions) is kinda the same, so that's why shonen is more popular.

But yeah, a shonen manja of the Bible would be legit.

Actually, I was thinking about an anime Book of Mormon the other night. Mainly about animating the bit with Ammon's arm-chopping rage in all its gruesome glory.
