Remember that discussion we had about the questionnaire about family and sex issues Pope Francis issued last year?

Here are the results.

Nothing wrong with a bit of banter, but this isn't really supposed to be the Christian TET.

So let's perhaps put the whole monkey/banana/dinosaur thing aside now...

Distruzio is poisoning my mind. I was explaining differences between Protestants and Catholics today, and I accidentally said Protestants and Christians.

Yeah what does masochism and "the atheists nightmare" have to do with a religion about a guy who willingly had himself tortured?

I suppose I will leave it to the theologians of Christianity to give you that answer. In-fact I think one is on now.

The Catholic and Orthodox church says otherwise, they magically mysteriously become the actual body and blood of Jesus.

Fixed. It ain't magic when God does it... or something.

But really, we Orthodox say that it doesn't matter how it changes - it does.

He didn't.

The Creation Account doesn't describe God like that. Even if we take a literalist approach to the Account, we find that God called out to Adam and Eve until they revealed themselves and asked, "what happened?" He then elaborated that the consequences resulting from their sin were because of the actions they themselves took. It wasn't punishment. It was consequence.

When you drop a ball it falls. Are you punishing the ground where the ball strikes it? No. The ball strikes the ground because of your action (dropping the ball). Consequence. Not punishment.

Aside from that, a literalist interpretation of the Creation Account isn't necessary to understand God and the individual.

The literalist interpretation also lays the groundwork for the illegitimate determinist perception of God.

When I was a kid, I went to a Catholic school, despite being Mennonite. Whenever my class went to confession, I was supposed to just tell the priest I wasn't Catholic, and then leave. However, I once screwed up slightly and told him I wasn't Christian. He reacted a bit awkwardly, but I didn't realize my mistake until he asked me whether my family celebrated Christmas (which was coming up at the time). By that point, it was too late for me to clarify. Awkwardness ensued.

The Freer Logion is a passage found in the Codex Washingtonianus, the third oldest known copy of the New Testament. It's a unique insertion after Mark 16:14. It's not found anywhere else, but according to Wikipedia it was partially quoted by St. Jerome.
The passage goes as follows:
And they excused themselves, saying, "This age of lawlessness and unbelief is under Satan, who does not allow the truth and power of God to prevail over the unclean things of the spirits [or: does not allow what lies under the unclean spirits to understand the truth and power of God]. Therefore reveal thy righteousness now" - thus they spoke to Christ. And Christ replied to them, "The term of years of Satan's power has been fulfilled, but other terrible things draw near. And for those who have sinned I was delivered over to death, that they may return to the truth and sin no more in order to inherit the spiritual and incorruptible glory of righteousness which is in heaven.

6 people identified as "Other Christian" on the poll. Who are they? What are they?
