I like Deus Ex because it tells a good story, and it ties in all loose ends from the previous two games. Also, it does make body enhancement technology so practical and achievable. It's like, even though you see people augmented in the game and you know is not real in real life that there's these enhancements, you can't not stop and think that they are quite achievable technologies, especially in the way they are described.
Those games do explore the idea of a very possible/probable future. Although, I'm not much into the technocracy like games, sci-fi like. Well, scratch that. I did enjoy the Mass Effect trilogy and find the Star Craft Kerrigan arc quite enjoyable.
Mass Effect and Star Craft are too fantastical for me
their lore is hundreds of years after us and into intergalactic travel without explaining the backstory in much detail, and even the backstory makes several leaps and leaves more questions unanswered than what it does answer. It puts you on a suspense of disbelief type of thing.I enjoy realistic games that provide a plausible future. The opportunities are quite endless with a realistic game exploring an alternate history.
