It's because sometimes we are so caught up in an issue that we don't see it from the other side. But it is something we should be conscious of.

Remember my post from earlier about skimpily dressed women? My fears are a result from child hood bullying. But because I know that the fear is irrational but keeps recurring due to a former experience, I can use my mind to try and overcome it. Such that I don't always glare at them nor have I ever made negative remarks to them as I keep those to myself.

We should be controlling our fears not letting them control us. The minute we let fear take over, then fear wins.

I knew a friend who was a normal guy and all that. He was not exactly very sociable and had no social skills but he was quite curious.

A few times he was yelled at for simply looking in a woman's direction and occasionally threatened with physical violence. He withdrew further from society and then one day, because he could not figure out why women felt threatened simply by being stared at, he decided he was going to undergo transgender transition to become a woman so he could find out. Of course we had to talk him out of it and get him counseling instead because that is a very bad reason for wanting to transition. But he was wanting to see things the way women saw them.

Now I am saying you should go get your stuff altered to become the opposite sex but it does bring up a point that too often we blinded by our own perspectives. Sometimes we need to step into the other side's shoes to see things from their perspective for a better understanding.
