Is ''Hooters'' Degrading To Women?

I think it's degrading. I once saw a clip on TV (don't know what show, but it had to do with an undercover camera man) where a manager of a hooters made the girls eat a plate of beans without any utensils, and whoever finished first got to go home early. The girls absolutely hated it. They've done other things that really bug me, too.

Are things like that happening at one specific Hooters or throughout the chain?

I prefer Femboy myself..I recall the twilight of my teen years when I was 18 to 21 and had that look going on.Then I got acne from job related stress and my face is a mess due to my stash that grows in every now and then.I bet I could still rock it with a little plastic surgery...

Women & Men are certainly divided...A interview had a group of hooters girls tell their side...all of them say that its a great place to work and that it is awfully exaggerated by married women and or conservatives...sooo if the Hooters girls love it then is it actually that bad???
Men love it but for obviously the wrong reasons(Me also being a man)But some don't...But back to the point, is it ultimately about tatas and 18 year old girls?

At a place like that, I'd only be satisfied if my waiter was a slightly-past-her-prime lady named Meryln with a Mississippi accent and a southern smile. It only seems fitting to have the whole experience

It's a non issue. After all its their choice to be degraded. It's all just business like anything else. I mean after all there are actual sex workers who are proud of their work. I fail to see why hooters should be considered bad relatively speaking.

I acknowledged that Hooters is more blatant in my initial post, but that doesn't make it a worse offender. If anything, at least they're transparent. I'd imagine its difficult for a girl to apply for a job at a fancy restaurant and get told she's not pretty enough.

Besides, is Hooters even that sexualised? I'll admit I've never been to one, but someone I knew at university worked there. From what she used to say/put up on Facebook it looked fairly tame in the grand scheme of things (and this was a girl who would happily post her topless holiday pictures). Shorts and a tank top might reveal more than trousers and a waistcoat, but go to the beach this summer and you'll see even more skin.

I know they do things like hula hoop demonstrations, but that honestly don't seem inherently sexual in nature. More the silly kind of antics you'd see at TGI Fridays.

If people want to use their looks to make cash, its well within their rights. If Hooters were to get shut down for being degrading, it would be an affront to freedom as much as anything.

Transparent? If I'm interpreting that correctly they are not transparent. Both men and women have sued the company for rejecting them. They (maybe not all of them) actually have a "test" to see if you qualify.
