Weimann, Ramsey and Rooney(C) helped me get to 40 for the day with 4 players left to play.
Was thinking of swapping Bruce for Caulker last night but thankfully despite Hull City getting a clean sheet Bruce only played 45 mins and ended up with 1 point less than Caulker. Rest of subs wouldn't have improved anything as expected.

Not a bad start score wise for Real Sea Salt Lake. Nervous about the head-to-head matches though. 20 points clear of 1 lad however he has more players left to play including his captain who I also have left to play. Hopefully both results fantasy and game wise work out.

How come you aren't in the NSG league?

Good start for Athletico Cosmo with Costa and Hazard still to play.

Doing better than me. I only have 27 points for the week. Hopefully Gerrard and Sturridge can come up with more.

Didn't know about it. I generally pay little attention to the NS forum but came across this thread a couple of days ago.

I had high hopes for Barkley. And he just went and got himself injured for potentially the next 5 months...
And I'd considered bringing in Siggy and Chester.

Eriksen as captain helped out.
Lukaku didn't. I hope Lambert plays tomorrow to make up for him and benching Bony.
Can't believe I decided to take him instead of Weimann. The kid is going to put on a show this year, I say.

You sign up for something, press some buttons named after footballers, and then be absolutely sure to post regularly about how many points you got or didn’t, because your fantasy points are a vital topic of discussion here, more so than anything that actually happened in a football match.

In fact, I’m not even sure the first two steps are necessary.

To be fair, I saw West Ham/Spurs on the telly and I didn't really find it that entertaining. This may be related to a) not caring very much about either team and b) its being on at 2am here (I'd have preferred the standard delayed coverage thank you very much).

Ha! That's pretty good.

Anybody else watching City vs. Newcastle? Cabella has been a revelation for them.

Another 10 points added today with Cahill left to play thanks to Sturridge, Coutinho and Gouffran.

Seen bits of it. On holiday so not dedicating time to watching live matches although I will still watch match of the day when it comes on. Seen the Liverpool - Southampton game though. Nerve-racking so it was.

My defenders have more points than my forwards.
10 points between the three defenders, with Azpi yer to play. Kompany and Kolarov each with 5, while Lukaku and Lambert with 2 and 1 respectively. I did neglect to rive Vert though. Then again, my bench outfielders would have had a combined three points, not a great difference.
Still, 41 points with 1 player yet to play is respectable.

The Leicester and Swansea results aside, that was a rather underwhelming beginning to the season. Hopefully Burnley can produce something tomorrow.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the three last minute goals on the other hand. It wasn't until I was yelling into my computer when Dier was running past the Hammers goalie how much I missed the PL.

Results wise I though it's been a good start considering only city have won by more than a goal, and they really shouldn't have.

US soccer media is right on the "another nightmare brewing for Manchester United" mode now. After one game. With a new manager and a cobbled together lineup. Were people expecting them to jump right into fantastic form in a major turnaround or something? I don't get it. I expect they'll be much improved and up towards or in the Europa League spots, but it's going to take a lot of effort and might be a slow start.

I mean, let's look at the starting 11 that van Gaal fielded:

David de Gea
Jones
Smalling
Blackett
Mata
Young
Herrera
Fletcher
Lingard
Rooney
Chicharito

How many of those do you think will be starting come the close of the transfer window?
