Why can't there be a mix?

I'm sure we did. The exchange came about from a remark by Ifreann, something like, "If only there had been a universal health care system the US could have looked at to see if it caused economic collapse" (or something like that). I'm not sure who brought up the British NHS first but Socialist Czechia declared it to be awful and I challenged him for sources. So the question isn't really "whose health care system sucks worse?" it's whether the NHS has done actual harm to Great Britain and whether it's as bad as SC makes it out to be.

With any new system you have kinks in it. But in all honesty, I like a open system where your not forced to get health care. It violates our freedoms, but I like the idea of all of the worthless bums on our system to start paying for something. So in all honesty, I am for it as long as it doesn't step on my freedoms too much.

Not exactly. Plenty of wealthy and successful countries don't have universal healthcare.

For example, Switzerland.

Disgrace in your opinion because universal health care isn't mandatory in any way.

That wasn't what I was saying. My point was simply that plenty of thriving countries don't have universal healthcare. Switzerland is one of them, and it's citizens are doing fine. I mean, it's probably because most of them are rich... But... Still...

You are talking to a person who would ban private health practice, considering that Cuban life expectancy is higher and infant mortality is lower than the US shows the failures of the US system.

Personally I think Universal Health Care would benefit the middle class more than the poor. (In the US)

Of course, ANY Universal Health Care is always thousand times better than none at all. I didn't say any word alone that I am in support of private health care.

But anyone has right to criticize public health care in case it can be better. Why to be just fine with it's simple existence?
Why to shut the mouth, when people constantly tend to abuse the system, be it too much officials just sitting and screwing around without doing any work or people too enthusiastic (eufemism) with their public health care privileges?

So let's make it clear, NHS can be much better but no matter how many problems it has, it's thousand times better than not have any public health care. Nuff said.

I simply forgot, that people around tend to hate public health care as a general idea, since I consider it's existence as simple humanity's progress, as normal, usual thing, and USA without health care is like 19th century topic. Something totally far away.

"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta
