Well, I'd be that asshole who panics and sits in the corner whining the whole battle. As soon as I even heard an inkling about the draft coming back, I'd sprint my ass into Canada.

If I was drafted/conscripted I would comply. After all I agreed to be available for the draft by living in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen. Though I may not make a very good soldier at first, I'm sure they could work that out in basic training (that's what basic training is for). As for the thing of me not being willing to kill, as soon as my survival instincts kick in I will be shooting people without a second thought.

The thing is though that if I knew that the draft was coming back I would just volunteer, since being drafted would probably be inevitable. By volunteering in the military I would get to choose which branch I go to (which would allow me to be something other then a basic infantry grunt), I would receive slightly higher pay (though that isn't exactly my biggest concern but it doesn't hurt to have it anyway), and I would receive higher respect then as if I was drafted (or at least I've heard that people who are drafted don't receive as much respect as volunteers).

I'd probably just deal with it, unless it was a war I was really, really opposed to, like one against one of my favorite nations for little cause. I might actually defect in that event, but it all depends on the context. Most contexts warranting the draft being used fully again would likely be fine with me. 'Nam included. I'd fight that one.

Unless of course it turns out my cough is actually asthma or that my body is too underweight for service, but this is an "are you willing" thread, not an "are you eligible" one.
