Actually. God *did* kill just the evil, but then he looked upon the earth and assumed it was beyond salvation and killed everyone. Then he did it again sometime later and apparently routinely does it via mediums such as cancer
Stop right there. God kills people with cancer in order to get rid of evil?

That people need the fear of an omnipotent, judgemental, bipolar bastard in the sky to be moral persons?
The quandary itself does not confuse me. It is an argument justifying the need for a God in modern times. Because we now don't need a God for the sun to rise tomorrow or to cure ourselves of the hickups, we need something more philosophical as an explanation to keep him around. After all, if he didn't serve a purpose, why would we spend so much of our lives devoted to him? Take a low level marketing class and you'll understand it perfectly.

The Apostles must've been some pretty good marketers.

As for how, He's God. He can do anything.
...so the KGB covering up murder is done in the image of God? God covered up his genocide like the other mass killers, such as Hitler. Obviously, they were too late.
And if he can do anything, why hasn't he proved his existence in some way we can actually understand?

I honestly don't know. I don't know how God's mind works.
