They weren't really though, they had just been tricked by manipulative anti-westerners

Does it really matter? They believed they were. And as there's no way to objectively determine which is the true belief, their views are as valid as anyone else's.

Pastor and Pope, two different groupd. Secondly how are they SO misguided considering the beliefs shared by muslims, jews, and christians

What I like is all the different groups in each over-group religion who claim the others are all wrong, evil and going to Hell. Because they translated literally a couple words in a multi thousand page book differently.

Am I the only one confused by the moral quandary that if God were not to exist, that suddenly, a whole lotta immoral things would suddenly become moral?

That people need the fear of an omnipotent, judgemental, bipolar bastard in the sky to be moral persons?

Actually. God *did* kill just the evil, but then he looked upon the earth and assumed it was beyond salvation and killed everyone. Then he did it again sometime later and apparently routinely does it via mediums such as cancer, asteroids, lightning strikes and other acts of god. >.>;

Of course this is aside from god just killing people because one of his representatives (Isiah) said so!

Ah....I am ex-Christian myself. We have something in common.

Only, I understand Vaas's definition of insanity. Why go from one dualistic, theistic, abrahamic religion to another that is more or less the same, just dominant in a different region of the world?

The quandary itself does not confuse me. It is an argument justifying the need for a God in modern times. Because we now don't need a God for the sun to rise tomorrow or to cure ourselves of the hickups, we need something more philosophical as an explanation to keep him around. After all, if he didn't serve a purpose, why would we spend so much of our lives devoted to him? Take a low level marketing class and you'll understand it perfectly.

OP's arguments, not mine.
