Worse, my weekly income is currently $0, with weekly expenses around $150. I can't cut down on those much further, and a job is hard to find.
Military service doesn't look too bad now, even though I'm not big on fighting, nor would I want to do it for over a year, as I have plans, as well as the fact I'm transfer and would be turned away at the door (for now at least)
Sometimes I regret following the one dream I have in life anymore. I'm not happy right now, but it's hard to be hungry and happy. If I'd have taken that offer for 1st recon last year, I'd be full, earning a good income, but not happy.
I ever mention that? I was called by I forget their name and exact position, but they were on the panel for selecting for 1st recon. Heck, I hadn't even stated my intention to enlist, my meeting with the recruiter the week before was just purely out of courtesy; at the time I thought I'd go off to college and get a job that way, there was never thought of me flunking out. Plus there was my gender stuff to deal with (I wasn't out at the time)
So he reviewed my fitness and aptitude scores, nothing stuck out terribly about the former, but could be improved upon. What he really liked was my aptitude scores, like crazy off the charts on the ASVAB (still no idea how I both did so well on the auto mechanics section, or how I outsmarted a classmate who now is at Princeton, and not because of money) and was offering a quick path to NCO, they wanted more smart NCOs in 1st recon, he said. Kinda wishing I had taken it now.
