Statistics, numbers, all this only matters as much as the source backing it up.

I did google what you asked me to... and found plenty of sites citing the UKs gun related crime rate below the US per capita. So... since I googled it and found information opposing yours, does that mean I'm right now? (and read my post above for the link to said information, which is sourced).

While I agree that we should provide people with a means to defend themselves I wonder how many people would actually be able to shoot someone if they had to.

Criminals are for the most part, chickenshits. They pick people who look like they won't fight. You pull a gun, they tend to run.

If there was no gun control, the students or teachers could cap the shooters before anything serious happened.

Give the people guns, educate them on safety and ethics, and everybody is a lot safer and a lot happier.

Gun related crime, yes. Violent crime, no. The UK's violent crime rate is 8 times the US's.
