Who cares? Isn't Croydon a dump? We'll see on Sunday how much of a disaster this has been. Polls show all the racism crap is backfiring. UKIP is actually going up in the polls. :p

Disillusioned people are willing to vote for an extreme right wing, anti-democratic social conservative party.

Yawn. The 1930s want their politics back.

Who doesn't want to see Poland invaded from across the Channel?
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

That's a really bad thing. That shows that UKIP voters are fine with racism.

As a South Londoner myself it was both enlightening and hilarious to see the results of what happened to UKIP in this situation and how the vote may turn out, especially as it is very close to the European Elections on the 22nd of May. Personally, I believe this was an absolute PR disaster for UKIP albeit one that they quite frankly deserved due to the idiocy of their Councillors and potential MP's, especially Winston MacKenzie who is nothing but a bigoted, Christian fundamentalist homophobe. Here's a link tell me what you think and the floor is yours :). http://www.buzzfeed.com/jimwaterson/i-w ... -total-dis

So a counter protest gives UKIP more press coverage then they could ever dream of. The only way this could come out better for Ukip if they got a video of someone doing something stupid while protesting them.

UKIP will pay people to come and heckle them at the next event they hold.

If I were their election advisor I would have them pay some dressed like a black blocer throw stones at them and a disappear before being caught.

Sorry but you're to compare referenda held during a period of dictatorship with a free and fair election. Either you believe in democracy or you don't. Get the point?

The old saying 'don't count your chickens before they hatch' comes to mind. Elsewise you might end up looking like Karl Rove on election night 2012.

Clearly they're not doing all that well, since they used to have a considerable lead and from the most up to date polls I've seen are showing them as being quite close to labour. In some cases, slightly lower. And you may say millions may beg to differ, but last I checked 27.6% didn't make a majority, so if we're using numbers to justify our views, I have the majority and therefore my opinion must have more leeway.

A majority of people want the death penalty back.

Saying that we should have something just because the majority wants it is stupid.

Yes it really is.

The public have, throughout history, shown that they aren't to be trusted. They are frequently swayed by the populist rhetoric of extremists - both right and left - why do you think the British Union of Fascists were such a serious threat to our democracy?

The system we have in this country for general elections very much caters to the idea that extremists shouldn't get a fair hearing. This is a Good ThingTM.

Ask anyone on the street what the EU is doing for them and most of them wouldn't be able to tell you. Why? Because they aren't informed about it. Why should uninformed ignorant people have a say on membership of the EU? Screaming because DEMOCRACY isn't a coherent argument and it's an idea that politicians of all parties need to confront.

Just because something is democratic, it does not mean it is good.
