Nah. I bet they'll all get together tomorrow, have a barbecue, and root for the Dutch, as I will.

Every team in world cup history safe for Saudi Arabia performed better against Germany than Brazil did.
It is almost heartbreaking how, where I watched the game, nobody even cared anymore when Özil almost made the 8:0.

You forgot one other that gives perspective - it's apparently been twenty-eight years since a wc semifinal last ended by a margin of more than one within ninety minutes. The Archregimancy wrote:I've now watched last night's match - and no, I didn't know the score before sitting down to watch the full replay over breakfast (thank you, BBC iPlayer).
I don't think a Caesar's done that badly against the Germans since the 31st of December, 406 AD.
And Dante has no chance of reaching Purgatory, never mind Paradise; he'll always be consigned to the Inferno after last night.
I could keep going, but otherwise I doubt I could say anything that hasn't been said by plenty of people before, and possibly by other people in this thread (which I've only skimmed since yesterday); but, for the record....
Germany are first side to score seven goals in a World Cup semi-final.
Six goals is the largest margin of victory in a World Cup semi-final; the previous five-goal record margin was set by the semi-finals in 1930 (both of which ended 6-1).
No team has previously scored five goals inside the first 30 minutes in a World Cup match.
Brazil's previous heaviest defeat in a World Cup match was 3-0 (in the 1998 final).
Kroos' two goals in 69 seconds was the fastest margin for one player to score two goals in succession in tournament history.
Brazil hadn't lost a competitive fixture at home since 1975.
Brazil last lost by six goals in 1920 (a 6-0 loss to Uruguay).
Miroslav Klose is now the all-time leading goal scorer in World Cup history - surpassing Brazil's Ronaldo in Brazil against Brazil.

Stay off the street until it's all over I say.

But as a multilingual person, perhaps you can explain this to me: Italy are the "Gli Azzurri" and France are the "Les Bleus". Aren't those both the same colour?

Correct, we call our team 'oranges' mostly.
Now lets hope that we can play Argentina off the field.

Nope.
Les Bleus wear blue - from the Pantone Reflex Blue of their flag, while gli Azzurri wear the Savoy azure.

I would assume 100% of matches will be exclusive to Sky (for Kiwis) but one never knows. It really depends on how much money Sky thinks advertising having exclusive coverage will make.
7-1 against the hosts is more or less a scoreline likely to be associated with the latter (ignoring the obvious issues with scoring differences). Australia's team won't be anywhere near as good as some of the ones it has fielded in the past (like Brazil) but it will still be actually world class (unlike Brazil). The Black Caps have fallen a long way down the ODI table since the Fleming days but we save our dramatic collapses for test matches (I believe we have all three of the lowest three test innings totals ever). That said, in 2007 NZ did beat Australia by ten wickets which is about as emphatic as this destruction of Brazil by Germany (for the team bowling first).
Note: Wiki has these as the only two events hosted by NZ in 2015; they're not just the ones that I a) care about (the cricket one) and b) have been bombarded with advertising for.
