I picked Mexico (2-1), but regardless, I'm rooting for Cameroon.

This game is so old that Croatia didn't even exist as a choice, so had to go with Brazil vs Yugoslavia instead.

I like to imagine the Mexican team lifting the trophy on top of Teotihuacan's sun pyramid at dawn <_<

Do Europeans generally have higher opinions on Mexico fans? Between the lasers, throwing coins (regularly), throwing bottles of urine, etc. it's hard for me to have much sympathy for them...

Look, a Luchador in the crowd :DNazis in Space wrote:Incidentally, I wish to make an argument that football is closely related to pro wrestling.
Both have
- predetermined results
- Refs actively turning a blind eye to illegitimate match conduct
- athletes pretending injuries

I haven't experienced them at an actual match, only via TV. Who I have experienced in an actual match are Turks (Much better than their reputation) and Frenchmen (Terrible).Yellow Yellow Red wrote:Do Europeans generally have higher opinions on Mexico fans? I hope they do well, at least at this stage, since they're the next team Brazil plays. Avenge the Glorious Croatian Motherland, amigos!Yellow Yellow Red wrote:

I thought it was the Costa Rican fans who did that sort of thing.

The defending was terrible even when sitting back. They've got to be more like they were in the last half hour, must keep getting forward, if they're to have any shot of making their next two games a competition. The Archregimancy wrote:Justice now done thanks to that goal...
But realistically Mexico would be 3-0 up, not 1-0, but for the dodgy linesman - and Cameroon have been really disappointing.
