The way I see it:
Starwars was a massive step forward for movies.
Jurassic park was the same way.
Avatar is just as groundbreaking as Star Wars and Jurassic Park. This is the new standard. Take a look at the "Alice in Wonderland" trailer in 3d.

the way *I* see it is that cameron made "titanic" the most unwatchable blockbuster ever.
