Maybe the juries were filled with women? One can never know ;)

As for Israel, actually not so, since I wouldn't be expecting the ultra-Orthodox population to watch a show known for its gayness. :P

Actually, we know the juries. Look here: http://www.eurovision.tv/page/results?e ... 3&voter=DE and click the body part of a jury member to see a short bio.

I hate to start another Costagate. But does anyone have a link to the jury vs public votes on all the acts? :lol2:

On this specific instance, I'll actually side with the jury's. Poland didn't deserve a high score.

You got it, chief.

You can look at how the vote was split and how horrible this system really is. For instance, the most popular televote in the UK was Poland, yet they received no points from the UK when it was combined with the jury vote.

Seriously, I'm convinced the jury is loaded with 2deep4u elitists who only look for superficial things like "talent" and "meaning" whilst failing to take into account the whole performance (the personality, special effects, lighting etc). I don't want Eurovision to turn into an X-Fator with flags where everyone has to play nice. Eurovision has never been about that.

I think Poland's entry can basically be summed up as "nice tits, shame about the fascism".

Juries ranked them from 1-25, and the televotes are ranked from 1-25 by the number of votes received, so we don't really have a jury vs public vote per se in the Eurovision voting style.

We should get the concise full lineup soon from Eurovision, but one is always welcome to compile the jury ones from the split results on the website itself.

Yeah, I think either the Juries should be given a smaller percentage of the vote (around 25 percent maybe) or just abolished all together, the vote should come down to the people, no matter how silly the people can be.

Likewise Britain. In Germany and Italy, however, both public and jury alike loved titties.

They're taking a leaf out of Britain's book.

Some countries have historically received extremely low points despite a strong performance, but France was not one of these undeserving losers.

That's a mildly odd statement to make because if that's so, I wonder why no one voted for Alex Swings Oscar Sings in 2009 when they got Dita von Teese.

I have a feeling that a lot of the juries votes went to the Netherlands, who weren't hugely popular when it came to popular support prior to the final (yet came solidly second). Conchita seems like a genuine peoples champion, it isn't a situation ( I don't think) where the Juries completely dictated the winning result. (cough, 2013, cough).

I'm thinking that both were actually well received by both the public and jury. I have a feeling the Neds got dissed too much by the self-proclaimed professionals on the blogs that we have a false sense that the Ned isn't that pops.

How exactly does it work anyway?

From what I understand, the system calculates the mean of the televoting and jury rank, and then works out point scores from there.

So if the televoting says "rank 1" (because of tits) but the jury says "rank 25 you polish bastards, we don't like pretty butter churning women!", the mean rank is 12. Therefore, no points for delicious polski tits.

I dunno, the Netherlands was just never that popular in the polls or in the betting stations, it was always Armenia/Sweden/Austria that were being mentioned, even Azerbaijan got mentioned more so, there was a few brief moments where the Netherlands was mentioned, but that's it. So it seemed very out of place the Netherlands suddenly getting constant twelve's and almost taking it. I think It came off as more of a Juries champion than a peoples champion. Austria on the other hand always came off as a "peoples champion", but not really a "juries champion", so I was personally under the impression that Sweden would probably take the victory (Sweden seemed to be a good balance both ways).

Personally, I thought the Dutch act was actually awful, but that's besides the point. :lol2:
