It's really okay, sometimes with years like Molly's, Cascada's or Greta Salome and Jonsi's, someone's bound to lose when a few (like Conchita, the Common Linnets, Sanna Nielsen) runs away with the majority of the votes, and the song just isn't strong enough to overpower those.

I wonder who we'll come up with next year? Since the 'new artist' strategy hasn't worked, we can go back to a 'remember them?' entry, and since we've had '60s/'70s (Engelbert), '80s (Bonnie Tyler), and '00s (Blue), how about a '90s entry? I'm going with Wet Wet Wet. Or perhaps Brian Harvey off of East 17. Or Noel Edmonds & Mr. Blobby, if we want to recapture the Scooch era.

I love this year's Eurovision. All the haters were dissing the Netherlands for being too boring and Austria for well, sending Conchita. It's a perfect ending both ended up 1-2.

Can someone please link me to the video of how the voting went.

Eurovision website, there's a Web TV, fastforward to uhhhh until voting starts! I watched it that way because I'm from Singapore.

Send Katrina and the Waves again? :P Or try to send Westlife? :P Maybe Spice Girls? Ahhh all have disbanded so good luck ;)

EDIT: Elton John might be a good choice. Play up the gay card. And don't sulk given Jade Ewen got 5th in 2009. Still can't forget how you guys pushed Urban Symphony off top 5. >:(

A reminder to Scotland that if it votes for independence, the best it'll do is being the best it can be for the people it are.

Facts.

edit: also the netherlands' entry was wank. You could drive across the netherlands in 20 minutes, so I don't see why you'd need country music there.

Oh, God, no. All far too famous. When a British Eurovision act is announced, a lightbulb needs to switch on in your brain and go "OH! I remember them!"

Honestly, enough time's gone by that we could bring Gina G or Imaani back round again.

Aaaanyway, I find it hilarious how UK is sooooooo desperate to get a high placing and yet criticizes it the same time. Obviously they ain't going to do so well if they think the rest of Europe is a joke and sipping high tea watching EastEnders or idkwhat is the way to go.

Congrats to all five Nordic countries - all entered top 15 :) It seems taking things a bit more seriously pays off.

The sole use of country music is for Knight Rider driving sequences and I guess ambling down Route 66 or something. How it could even be played in a country about as wide as Isabelle Caro is a mystery to me.

I think Anouk got hurt points-wise with the "hmmm I'm famous enough lemme wear jeans and a shirt" thing. But then again, it's Anouk. No other style would have worked.

The Netherlands this year profited from a really great staging that's aided by the wonderful stage, and apposite use of what they were given.

You didn't directly link it to me. You told me to find it myself, which is what I have been doing for the last fucking fifteen minutes. You gave me a list of videos, none of which give me the damned Grand Final.

All I asked for was one simple link of the video clip of the Grand Final. Christ, when you want something done, do it yourself.

Here: http://www.eurovision.tv/page/results

You can look at how the vote was split and how horrible this system really is. For instance, the most popular televote in the UK was Poland, yet they received no points from the UK when it was combined with the jury vote.
