I would say thomas sankara was by far the coolest leader Burkina Faso ever had. too bad he was taken away from his nation.

He was a minimalist who didn't play with his nations money but rather tried to decrease its debt instead, believed in education, was pretty much the only guy in the continent at the forefront on women rights (banned genital mutilation), he favoured economic independence over handouts (foreign aid, IMF).... Did I mention he like riding motorcycles and was an pretty good guitar player that liked to jam from time to time.

I think the coolest thing he did when he came into power was when he sold the previous president's ridiculously expensive fleet of cars and replaced it with the cheapest car as the official vehicle of the government( which made perfect sense since the nation was and still is a developing country)

Hitler.

Not that I support his ideas of mass genocide, and his eugenics and oppression of Jews and Roma and homosexuals. But the man was fantastic! I mean was such a charismatic speaker and he made Germany proud of itself since the depression it had been in since WWI and he went from being a bum to an amazing dictator. I mean the man was brilliant and a mastermind and a little crazy but that's what you want in a leader.

EDIT: Nero man! I have not seen f-ing Nero mentioned I mean come on he was just as cool as Hitler.

The kid on the right ended up being among the coolest leaders of Argentina, Evita . Evita was famous in many parts of the world.

Image

The kid to the left is Evita 's sister. She and the rest of the family distanced themselves from Peron when Evita was no longer around. She and her family went to live in Chile when Peron was overthrown. She later went back to Argentina. She lasted until the year 2012 at the age of 95.

Well LeMumba was pretty cool.
A chill and calm man, who stood up to bullies like Belgium and the United States.
Patrice eventually had to pay for standing up to that last one when shortly after he was elected, the americans supported violent rebels that overthrew him and executed him.

but he could rock glasses like no NBA player on a press conference could, with style and authority

Lincoln, he kicked a huge ass rebellions ass and reunited the Union, and lived for five (I believe) more hours after being shot in the back of the head. Can't beat that.

As an example of a 'cool' leader, I think, would be John F. Kennedy, who calmly risked nuclear apocalypse while everyone in the entire world was telling him to not do it.
