As someone who does open carry true Assault Rifles around on an almost daily basis in the public, I have to back Spree up here and say don't be that guy. Around my parts, you would be picked up and held for questioning as LEO would think you were part of one of the many local "constitutional" militias we have running around here.

I'm not. LEO is just doing his job, as nutjob militia more often then not don't deserve to be carrying publically.

Anything from .22 to 308. Though Id venture to say 6.5 or 6.8 based upon the tacticool Yankee Hill muzzle brake you have on it.

PS. No such thing as an assault rifle. Made up term for scaremongering....

I guarantee you, my Colt M4 select fire 5.56 is most certainly an assault rifle. The term you meant here was "assault weapon" lad.

From left-to-right, going by total cost I've put into them and not initial sale price. If it was a gift/payment, I'll just put their MSRP for reasons;

I can't say I really like com-bloc weapon myself. The only military type weapons I would be inclined to collect woulf be various ARs, the PS90, some pre-AR U.S. weapons (the M1 for starters) and a variety of handguns. I will have some $20k to spend once I get to Texas.

Chances are, this AR of mine would only be used for clearing a home (like I mentioned: building this if I have to supply my own rifle... or perhaps I'll build it, anyway), so length is a major concern here. A super-varminter AR would be pretty nice, though, especially out in Texas. I wonder if they make any in .220 Swift.
