I've been kept awake by the sound of barking dogs. Frequently.

I used to be kept awake by the movement of a dog. One of my dogs would sleep on my bed.

Yes, very true. The howling should come later.

No. Both were wrong for these reasons; 1. Felines < Canines. Seeing as DOGS chase CATS and not the other way around. Also, dogs are a lot faster than cats.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

Seems to be a bit of a controversial topic in the dog pet owner world. Personally I've never seen anything wrong with it.

It was worth it. Back then. Now that I would have to deal with a pet myself, both financially and in terms of physical effort? Not so much. Maybe once I have a family.

I don't see the issue with dogs sleeping in the bed. He has his own bed, of course, but sometimes I need a cuddle. Especially during power cuts.

There's nothing really wrong with it in terms of diseases and whatnot unless they have fleas.

"My" dog slept on my bed or on my floor. The dog that attached itself to my parents slept on their bed. They both had their own beds, but they didn't give a damn about them during the night. They were just used for belly rubs during the day.

That's him trying to scare off intruders, another big advantage of dogs over cats.

Our family boxer dog used to sleep on my bed some nights when I was a kid. I welcomed the company. My childhood wasn't especially happy. He'd know when I was feeling down, and spend the night laying at the foot of my bed looking very forlorn.

Only thing I don't like about having a dog is the loss you feel when they die. It can be heartbreaking.

No. Then again, my dog's one of the biggest breeds. So, I'd never get to see that, regardless.

Well, we all need a cuddle, now and then.

Probably the only time I'd object if it was shedding, but that can be taken care of with grooming.
