Who is "a lot of them", as in numbers or which figures?. Also is this about the death penalty or criminalizing homosexuality?

One UKIP Councillor, who opposes gay marriage but that doesnt mean he seeks the criminalization of homosexuality ...

As a joke its good and proper :) as a serious political comment its not the best.

When I read the thread title, I was about to laugh about how clicking "I am over 18" does jack-all.

But I find that hilarious.

David Cameron now wants us to hand over credit card details or personal information, both of which the government has spent years telling us to never give out... and give them over to porn sites.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

This is ridiculous on a whole extra level.

And so Cameron provides more fodder for the 'state tyranny is coming!' crowd. Can't say I blame them, and I think it's a damn shame we allow any public bitch like him to talk about faith. If he wants to be PM he can put up and shut up.

I got the joke and merely tried to carry it on. I know that we are all well aware that the councillor was very much in support of his statement, which was a political one, when he made it. It is somewhat saddening that views such as these still carry such currency and weight that he was able to say it to what was a receptive audience (was it a pamphlet or an actual speech?).

Advocating giving out credit card details to dodgy websites is hardly a pillar of responsible government and such a thing could never reach the statute books. Credit card fraud would skyrocket purely as a result of people more or less giving their details to every non-state-approved website they visit.

Why do people hate so much porn? It should be available for everyone. Children, pedophiles or foreigners or whatever are not an exception. I think it's an important experience to watch porn or sex. While there are some forms that might not always be the most educating I have to say that the majority is just fine on realism. If it's not, then brains might be applied and the pornographic or sexual content could be used for entertainment.

It's not only wrong to ban porn from children and regulate it to adults only, it's also horribly inefficient. There would have to be harsh regulations on things like Japanese porn cartoons and social media (snapchat). Perhaps some age restrictions on calling someone with phones should be implemented, because of the sexual content on telephone sex that some people are exposed to, hmm?

I don't understand why a site should even be responsible for its content. I mean let the shit just flow or something like in style of 4chan or something.

A better question is: Why are children's parents not monitoring what their child views on the Internet?

I don't blame the Tory gov't for pushing this, but they really have to find the actual reasoning behind this.

That's my point.

The Sunday Times and two largely unheard of new sites, this topic itself comes up on the first page of the Google search.

That makes two of us!

I doubt that this will ever become law - remember Labour's Mansion Tax. That lasted for a week until Labour realised that asking inner-city Londoners to vote for a 20,000 tax rise would probably jeopardise their plans to gain hold of the inner London Tory semi-safe seats come election-time. I am no fan of complacency but I genuinely feel that this is probably going to go away.

It was on the front page of the Sunday Times and nowhere else. These two sites have probably cloned it. The Times doesn't do much in the way of libelous content and it's Easter Sunday. Wait for the weekday papers.

The production, sharing (including transaction) and viewing of child pornography are all illegal under US federal (I assume) law.
4chan is a site hosted in the US, serving primarily US users.

4chan is completely within the FBI's remit to target for child pornography offences.

How are they abusing their authority? child pornography is a crime. It makes sense for the FBI to take down a page that shows it.
