my explanation is ridiculously more plausible than the other possibility. i mean, most people are the religion they are for social reasons anyways, but they also start out in a church. obama, on the other hand, decided to take up religion for some reason. and upon deciding to go to church had to choose one. he could have chosen any - its chicago, we've got all sorts. he chose one that helped him most in his professional life.

Don't confuse Christianity with Judaism. I doubt many Christians would even attempt to read Leviticus, much less understand and legislate it.
