if you give someone the means to kill, they will use it. Give Iran a nuke and they will wipe Israel off the map.

This relies on the assumption that, unlike the leaders of every other nation with nuclear weapons including North Korea, the Iranian government is willing and ready to commit suicide.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

I think Ahmadinejad is crazy enough...the rest of the government, not so much, but I guess it boils down to just how effectively he and his nutjob supporters can overpower their resistance.

They want to build their own nukes. It sucks, but America has no right to impose their will on them. America needs to stop buttforking everyone else's sovereignty. Maybe then they wouldn't have everyone preparing to gang rape them.

Your missing the point, what I'm pointing out is Iran's no where near as stable as the present holders of nuclear weapons; the country's security is too volatile, this year we've probably come within a week of a counter revolution that was averted by the Iranian police, if Iran has nuclear weapons and the police fail to stop a counter revolution the weapons could fall into anyone's hands.

I was simply pointing out Call of Duty as the example of a 'what if' scenario.

I will say this

it has become exceptionally easy to troll the US

This forum is evidence of that.

Attack any American interest or ideology, and watch as America and American's rush to defend it with unequal zeal.

It's as if we have developed a pathological obsession with being "Always Right"
Not to mention, fierce Nationalism, and a somewhat unhealthy level of paranoia

of course I blame 9/11 for the majority of that.
Gun control is for wimps and commies.

Let's get one thing straight: guns don't kill people.... I do.

So we should let them have weapons to use against us?

Why do we keep pissing around with these third world jerks? Pull out the nukes! Nuke the whole damn lot over there; level it off and build a big parking lot. That will surely be doing the world a favor!

Even with the JK I immediately thought (DEFEND DEFEND DEFEND)

when really there is no defense for that, all I can stress is that at that time, Japan was the enemy, and the rest of the world....would have probably behaved with the same level of barbarism

Damm.....I think we discovered something about the American mentality here.

That was Stalin.

Yeah, let them have the weapons. It's their right. What would be better for you Yanks is to show Iran that you're not their enemy. Send them a gift basket from time to time, promote friendly relations. Is it really so hard, or does American foreign policy got "AMURKA IS THE BEST AND NO ONE ELSE DESERVES OUR FRIENDSHIIP" so hard up the ass that it can't do anything but start wars?

Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure, but a preemptive attack would still be retarded. America doesn't have the troops, it doesn't have the money, and it doesn't have the popular support. Iran would make Iraq look easy.

The problem with Iran, frankly, is that for all its power, there's not that much America can afford to do. Seems to me our options are basically diplomacy or nukes- we don't have the troops or money for invading the place, and bombing the nuclear facilities, even if successful, will provoke the Iranians while causing only a temporary delay. Its just that a lot of Americans haven't adapted yet to a world where they can't afford to act militarily against some developing country in the Middle East. But its America's own damn fault for overstretching itself militarily.

Bah, the chinese were still allowed to walk around. So there is nothing remotely xenophobic there. (The reason the germans weren't locked up is because they were white, and therefore not part of the yellow peril).

Don't get me wrong. Nukes, in my opinion, are always a bad thing. But it's none of America's business. The US needs to drop the assumption that it has the right to police the world; it doesn't.

Every one wants nukes, I say we give every country on earth one.
Each nuke with a way of identifying whose was used.
Then place the rest under group control with the policy that :
1) first on to fire = every one nukes
2) any enriching of radioactive = every one nukes
3) your nuke gets stolen and is used = every one nukes
4) you violate carbon emission treaty = every one nukes
5) you harbor international criminals = well you get the idea :-)

Individualism is a bad thing? I disagree wholeheartedly, Collectivism scares me more than anything else as it has justified the most oppressive regimes in existence.

"Patriotism ranges from defense of national values, to veneration of real estate over principle. the trick is being able to distinguish the difference. only when you can admit that your nation has done evil, and still defend it, will you be a true patriot."

The USA should stop worrying about old technology like nukes and win the way it is best at by creating more high tec and expensive weapons as much more frightening than nukes as nukes were over fire bombs that no one else can afford to build.
