Cutting off half of the US, and the majority of it's agricultural states is anything BUT good. I am at a loss on how that is difficult for you tog rasp.

No, it won't. The Midwest holding farms is hugely important as exports. The world buys huge amounts of wheat (among other crops) from the US, not to mention it would deprive the US itself from these crops. It would be a huge disadvantage.

Not to mention economic centers like Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Omaha, St. Louis, many Texan cities, Denver, etc.
