It is my opinion that it is ridiculous that the local government can support the Irish language in some settings but should it be used the police will arrest the speaker rather than attempting to find an interpreter.

What do you lot think? Who's in the wrong here?

What seriously? so they arrested someone in Ireland for speaking...Irish? Not quite sure what the possible logic is there. Either way I guess it safe to say this guy didn't kiss the Blarney Stone or should I say Cloch na Blarnan? :lol:

Got to keep those pesky republicans tricolors in tow. Even with the downfall of the IRA things are going to be tense and still are. Vice news did a documentary about the tensions in 2013 and they seemed to still be simmering even with "peace".

Not that it's an excuse or anything, but IIRC PSNI is (or perhaps was) the world's most dangerous police force to work in. South Africa is close by.
