I'm English and I frankly lament the US' position of global superiority and chief of the hegemony.

But I accept this, because it's simply foolish not to.

I'm sorry, but how exactly do you know so much about the military? It's eery how you seems to be the junta guru.

NS has quite a few people well versed in military matters, through research and service experience.
I'm actually not one of them, I've just been around long enough to pick up quite a few important fundamentals and done some cursory personal research.

I am, however, one of the only ones that particularly bothers to foray into NSG, and probably the most prolific poster of that group.

Consider it an illusion of authority.

If any of you wish to verse yourselves on a wide array of topics about the Soviet forces, this forum contains a series of kindly-translated Russian manuals, documents and articles discussing them.

Partly because the US isn't exactly super secret with a lot of its moves. It's easy enough to inform yourself to a certainly level, especially with the openness of the West (particularly America) with displaying it's military power (which is partly a signaling move- show the world how much power you have, and maybe it'll end the conflict before it ever starts).

And how many of those did America fight on its own that were not fought in America.

I can name a couple wars you cant give them credit for winning: WW1 (Germany signed an Armistice because it was running out of supplies due to British Blockade, not because of the American Troops that came to Europe; Most of whom were killed within the few months after America entered), WW2 (That goes to Great Britain and Russia; Great Britain reduced the Luftwaffe greatly during the Battle of Britain; Russia invaded Germany before America could and then they invaded Japanese territory and the Japanese even publically announced that they gave the Russian Invasion most of the credit for their surrender), Korean War (That goes to the UN in general).

So they weren't important in WWI? Who sent Britain large amounts of supplies?

So lets see about WWII:

Primary Allied power in the Pacific Front from 1941-1945? US. Highest number of enemies on the Pacific Front killed by? US. Most ground (Well, sea in this case) taken on Pacific Front? US. Most damage on Pacific Front done by? US.

I would like a source stating Japan gave most of the credit to Russia for their defeat.

Second largest presence of troops in Europe, largest on the Western front? US. Provided large number of supplies and equipment to allies? US. Key in taking all of France and then some in one year? US. Largest production capacity in all the world? US.

Key player in Korea? US.

There were other important nations in these wars, but the US was the front-runner in them.

1. Who's ships kept getting sunk by the German U-Boats? American Supply Ships.

2. One front is not an entire war.

3. Tsuyoshi Hasegawa a renowned Japanese Historian and Professor at the time of the Bombings stated that the Soviet Declaration of War on Japan had more of an effect than the two Nuclear Bombings. Mostly because it would take the Soviets less time to invade than it would take America to send over enough bombs to obliterate Japan. Here is a famous quote from him: "The Soviet entry into the war played a much greater role than the atomic bombs in inducing Japan to surrender because it dashed any hope that Japan could terminate the war through Moscow's mediation." Soon after the Japanese Governments ordered troops that were battling the Soviets to surrender, and after that troops fighting the U.S. were given the orders. Because Russia was a bigger threat.

4. Not true. The British and the combined forces of the Free French/Dutch/Belgians along with some of the Baltic Nations, fielded the second largest amount of troops on the European Front. America was not key to taking back all of France at all! For one thing German Forces continued to keep getting pulled back instead of engaging the Allied Troops, and it was mainly the British and French who liberated Paris. American forces were not present at all in taking Germany. Great Britain had enough supplies that it didn't need America.

5. Incorrect! There was no key player in general because it was a combined effort.

I'd say China. They have a greater numerical strength. While their technological advancement is not as great as America's, it steps up from Russia or UK, the two other leading world superpowers besides America and China itself.

I can tell Decius is really riled up now.

Decius wrote:1. Who's ships kept getting sunk by the German U-Boats? American Supply Ships.

Oh gee, why is that, I wonder? It's certainly a mystery as to why Germany would have attacked American merchant vessels. It's certainly wasn't because they were sending supplies to Britain- Oh wait, that's exactly why!
2. One front is not an entire war.

Two fronts is a good two thirds however.

I'm pretty sure prompt and utter destruction was a bit more threatening than malicious occupation. Also, from what I read Hasegawa is only one man.
4. Not true. The British and the combined forces of the Free French/Dutch/Belgians along with some of the Baltic Nations, fielded the second largest amount of troops on the European Front.

Forces from four nations don't count as one force, they count as four.
America was not key to taking back all of France at all!

Operations Dragoon and Overlord both say hello.

Key player means they were a major factor, so yes, there can be a key player.
Now you are wrong! America is behind the following countries in technology! China, Germany, Japan!

Is not. Show, don't tell.
Russia has far more firepower than America, size does not demonstrate power because the Russians actually have brains!

This is incorrect.
As I have mentioned, Russia has a much larger Nuclear Arsenal.

You specifically said earlier it was only ten percent larger.

It's presently thought that the US and Russian nuclear arsenals are more or less the same size, with Russia's being slightly larger.

There are beliefs, what with the Russian total nuclear overhaul, that Russia may pose significantly more service ICBMs than America does.

Today, the Sarmat, RS-26 and RS-24 missile stocks alone outnumber the US ICBM arsenal 2:1.
Plus about 500 Topol and Topol-M missiles, and one hundred SS-18 and SS-19 weapons. This is over triple the US ICBM stocks.
