If one wants to get into the specifics, the new consoles essentially are the same as PCs with a limited and closed operating system.

Games are seldom made with the intention of pushing current parts to the limit. There's a reason why an Intel i7-4770K isn't the minimum requirement for games these days. The only such game that was recently released was Crysis in 2007, the graphical settings of which required hardware that wasn't yet available for purchase.

False. Alot of games are made to push the limit on whatever they have available. IE: The in thing now is massive open worlds (MGS, GTA, Skyrim) Developers are testing the water all to time to push what is available to them to get optimum gaming. Even if it doesnt push the limits that just means they can add more to the game.

I'm curious as to see NSG's opinion on the Next Gen console wars.

Which of these 2 main Next Gen consoles do you consider better, and why do you think that?

I personally prefer the PS4 as it allows for free internet browsing, has a touch pad controller, and has stunning graphics.

I can't bring myself to become interested in either. The 360 is, currently, more than satisfactory. I only use my console for games and the occasional DVD. I have no need for multimedia interactivity.

At least not yet.
