Since when do paratroopers do patrol duty near a nation's border? Oh Russia, Russia, when will you realize we all see through your lies?

Often? Israel certainly uses various infantry divisions (Golani, Givati, Paratroopers) to help secure its borders.

Here are official IDF photographs of Shaked Battalion, Givati Brigade securing the border from terrorist infiltrators.

Here is a post by an IDF paratrooper detailing his border guard duty: Winding Down:

As a bit of an update on location and what we’re doing, we finally finished our 3 months of imun (training) and have moved onto guarding the northern border of Israel with Lebanon.

Here's a news article about IDF paratroopers preparing for patrol of the Northern border over here.

At this point I should mention that the DPR recently introduced the death penalty for a number of crimes including treason, looting and espionage.
Seems like the DPR is becoming less secure in its hold then, if it has to resort to emergency like powers to keep control.

The death penalty was in place for at least four months in the DPR.

Which sort of makes sense in the context.

You're really bad at reading, eh? The source said they were PART of an Armored Column, not that they personally operated the vehicles within it. This matches up with earlier reports of an Armored column crossing into Ukraine from Russia, around the time that the Humanitarian convoy was near the border.

Um, since when has Russia had the same border security issues as Israel? :lol2: In Israel, people are at constant risk of death, and more importantly we've seen actual deaths happen there, something I have not really heard about with Russia and the Ukrainian conflict. There may have been shells that made their way into Russia, but there were shells in Syria that made it into Turkey, and I don't recall hearing about them amassing troops there ready to invade. On the contrary, I think they made their goal to get people away from the border and to a safe distance. Since Russia has not yet announced this as their reasoning, I think it's fairly safe to assume this isn't their reasoning for having paratroopers at the border. Regular infantry and defensive weapons makes sense, but it sounds like they're building up an attack force. So really, I think you've made a poor comparison by bringing up the IDF.

Killing people for "treason" to a non-legally existing country "makes sense"? Wonder if anyone gets a fair trial? Wow, this is sounding a lot more like ISIS now. Bravo Russian Ultra-Nationalists, bravo.

Except the DPR isn't functioning as a State, lol. I mean, if you strip the requirements for being a state to the bare-minimum, then maybe they are. But, the Civilized World doesn't see the DPR as a legitimate, functioning State.

Uh, since when have any of the Pro-Russian countries been "working"? And saying "I CANNOT kill people for crimes?" is just hilarious given that we have no idea if these people are A) getting a free trial, B) committing crimes, or C) if this isn't simply a form of oppression being dressed up as "justice". One of the benefits of being a LEGALLY recognized country is we can actually investigate these things and see what is going on.

I didn't know the Islamic State had a space program, sent military aid and advisers to nations at war or was one of the most resource rich nations on the planet. Saying the DPRK doesn't function as a state just shows you don't know anything about the DPRK, it may be a belligerent state but that doesn't change anything.

There's a difference. WW2 is a big huge war. That's why we called it "WORLD WAR 2". Also, comparing Hitler to Putin, I thought some people were low, but this just shows. Unless somebody steps in, it will keep on going because unless somebody has a huge change of mind, we will NOT have a compromise. The illegitimate government wants Eastern Ukraine to fuel their illegitimate regime. The Eastern Ukrainians, surprise surprise! They want to keep their land.
Oh, look at you complaining about them staying out of Ukraines business!

BIG FUCKING SURPRISE. Hey, you know there is something called, uh, politics? You need power to succeed. I sure as hell would not be pleased to have a damn neighbor fighting next to me! You need power in the modern world, you need leverage. Funding and/or attacking the ILLEGITIMATE SIDE, FUNDED BY THE WEST would accomplish this.

Btw, you think that's wrong? Just look at the USA, with their intervention where they aren't fucking needed. Serbia, Central America, etc, there are so many examples you cannot even begin to count them yourself.

Am I comparing Putin to Hitler? You be I am! But that's not what matters, what matters is the horrendously narrow-mindedness to this statement! A Russian victory is justified because it ends a war, even if millions get killed for it, or if a nation loses it's independence? You know, this war WOULD have resolved itself is Russia had stayed out of Ukraine's business in the FIRST PLACE. 2000 dead would be alive, 330'000 displaced persons would be at home living life as normal. And you say Russia should "resolve" it. *facepalm*

Just look at the USA, with their intervention where they aren't fucking needed. Serbia

Cuz fuck stopping genocide and ethnic cleansing amirite guys?

A rag-tag bunch of thugs with guns, coming together to fight against Ukraine is a functioning state? I wasn't aware.

I didn't know the Islamic State had a space program, sent military aid and advisers to nations at war or was one of the most resource rich nations on the planet. Saying the DPRK doesn't function as a state just shows you don't know anything about the DPRK, it may be a belligerent state but that doesn't change anything.

We're on two different pages here, bucko. We're talking about the Donetsk People's Republic, not Worst Korea.

:lol2: A space program that isn't going anywhere, military aid to where exactly, and resources that countries like Canada probably have a few hundred times more of. Wait.... Are you talking about the Pro-Russian states in Ukraine, or North Korea here, I'm confused?
"Take Fascism and remove the racism, ultra-nationalism, oppression, murder, and replace these things with proper civil rights and freedoms and what do you get? Us, a much stronger and more free nation than most."
"Tell me, is it still a 'revolution' or 'liberation' when you are killing our men, women, and children in front of us for not allowing themselves to be 'saved' by you? Call Communism and Democracy whatever you want, but to our people they're both the same thing; Oppression."
"You say manifest destiny, I say act of war. You're free to disagree with me, but I tend to make my arguments with a gun."
Since everyone does one of these: Impeach Democracy, Legalize Monarchy, Incompetent leadership is theft.
