Oh, Christie. You could have been a great candidate, but no, you had to let your staff close down a bridge. While I'm suprised at the huge effect it has and is still having on christie's career despite christie's internal investigation exonerating him coming out nearly a month ago. (which you would think would dispel some of the effect fairly quickly, especially in conservative states) , there's no sense in hoping for a christie recovery. Could it happen? Sure. But it doesn't look likely right now.

Republicans, it's time to embrace the 'Plan B' candidate without fail - and make sure he doesn't have anything to do with a bridge. I'm talking about Jeb Bush. Plan C would be Scott Walker or Marco Rubio, but let's try to go with Plan B for now.

Then again Texas probably thought Mitt Romney would win in 2012 too.

They probably did, but so did nearly every single Romney voter on the planet.
