Yes. We don't want dictatorships and Empires in Europe, since the EU would collapse with the snap of a finger if there were.

A small and intentionally selective list of recent republics:

Syria
North Korea
The Democratic Republic of Kampuchea
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Iraq under Saddam Hussein
Iran
Belarus

From which I reach the conclusion that a republic is no automatic bar to either dictatorship or empire.

A small and intentionally selective list of recent monarchies:

Denmark
Sweden
Norway
The Netherlands
Belgium

From which I reach the conclusion that a monarchy is no automatic bar to democracy, or even social democracy.

From which I reach the overall conclusion that if you want dictatorships or empires, then - in a modern European context - you should be arguing in favour of democracy first, and leaving the decision over whether a country is a monarchy or a republic to the will of the people of that country.

But then, your entire map shows a total disregard for what most Europeans actually want.

So the big question here for all of when would be how?

Seriously, pretty much none of them make sense.

Germany annexing Switzerland? That'll be the day.

(The rest is ridiculous too, but one thing at a time.)

To expand on this: Switzerland has been united and independent since practically forever. Their confederacy dates back 700 years, they pretty much skipped the Thirty Years' War, they gained independence from the Holy Roman Empire nearly 400 years ago and became a federal state about 150 years ago. They're fiercely protective of their status, on cordial but aloof terms with their neighbours, and they're less likely to split into France and Germany than the US are to split into Mexico and Canada.

It's probably like the German "Müller", the Greek "Papadopoulos" and the Turkish "Mutlu".
