‘Tis nature’s crime, a murder of this wood;

Cruel time, her theft has taken from this wreck.

Thick moss and grasses grow here, where they should,

This here has grasses thick; a wreck it seems.
From cracks within the walls were gone her beams,
Where flowers and the moss grow where they should.
‘Tis rot, cruel nature’s crime to murder wood,
This show of taken time, and hidden theft;
Now only oaken struts and bricks are left.
