Alright, I think this Threadjack has run its course.

Now on to relevance, This is not the greatest news for homosexual teens

I can only wonder how bad it is in the US...but progress needs to be made in Britain too.

If a group is singled out for bullying more than other groups based upon identity issues, then it's definitely an issue for those who share that identity and those who care about them.

This is an LGBT rights and issues thread, so the thread is ABOUT LGBT people. That's the reason why there aren't posts about issues facing the poor, minorities, people in war-torn countries, etc.

Yes, all bullying is wrong. As this is the LGBT thread, we're talking about how and why LGBT students tend to be the targeting of bullying more often than straight students. If you'd care to address that, you're welcome to do so.

LGBT students are perhaps targeted more often because they are a violation of our subconsciously held cultural precepts promoting heteronormativity and sex-gender binary essentialism (the beliefs that everyone is heterosexual and that biological sex and gender identity have only two forms which exist in two pairs that are always present in a person for all their lives). Consequently, a person may feel disturbed by their existence and denigrate them so as to reassure themselves that the system they hold to regarding sexuality, sex and gender (the system formed by the two beliefs above) has no exceptions. Thus homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and their expression in life.
If a gay person dislikes bisexuals, that's attributable to thinking bisexuality is an impossibility.
EDIT: this is a poorly educated hypothesis as to the origin of biphobia, transphobia and homophobia.
