About half a million. Out of 63 million. As I said, nobody.

And? There are about half a million gun owners. That's quite a small percentage of the population (most of whom are in the middle of nowhere), and nowhere near enough to make it a political issue.

There are civil firearms for one out of every thirty in the UK. That's actually sizeable.

With the exception of actual farmers, it kinda is. Living in rural England, I've only ever known three people with guns, and two of those were farmers. I honestly don't know who's hiding these guns, but I'd assume it's significantly skewed towards private collectors or something. Or that a lot of people with gun licences don't actually own guns.

And there are more guns in the US than people. Doesn't mean much politically.

That means if you walk into an Asda, it's pretty likely that several people in there at the moment are allowed to own firearms.
Not inconsequential, then.

Not my local Asda, mind, because Merseyside has the lowest firearms licence issuing in the country.
But on the basis that everyone who lives where I do is either a student, a drug dealer or both, the number of people with firearms is probably the same.

I don't see how you owning an air rifle disproves that most gun owners are in the middle of nowhere. If you want to argue with anecdotes, I can simply say I haven't seen a single gun since I've arrived in the UK. Do I win a prize?

I'm not claiming there are no guns in the UK. There are few countries with a small enough amount of guns to disregard them entirely. But there aren't enough gun owners, and more importantly enough gun owners who care, to make gun control anywhere near a priority. To like the UKIP simply because they favour deregulating guns is absolutely asinine.

That's a lie. The Police are equipped with guns at all airports. You had to have seen a gun when you immigrated here.

It's a political position, and I'm sure it's one that is shared by plenty of people.
Be glad they've made their position on something clear.

I saw few cops, and while I didn't pay close attention because I don't care, from what I recall they all had batons and not much else.

Didn't we just go over this? I swear I just posted a source that showed there were about half a million gun owners out of 63 million people (which, of course, doesn't mean that the half a million actually care enough to make gun control a priority).

There's no reason why people should be glad someone can post a coherent sentence. That should be the norm, not the exception.

It's about the political position, and popular opinion about that. My request for you is to provide me with a credible source about popular opinion.
Not how many people own firearms, but how many people would support the position of the United Kingdom Independence Party on this issue.
So far, I've seen nothing about that, and yet you're claiming that it's a very unpopular or insignificant view.

Quintium Divair is right. The rate of gun ownership is about 1% in the UK, which roughly corresponds to Divair's figures. British hunters don't dispute that figure.

Speaking as a gun owner person who has been loaned a gun by a responsible adult, I'd say that the status quo of keeping retards from owning guns works fine.

Ardent capitalist, Thatcherite, and Blairite though I am, UKIP is abhorrent to a proper cosmopolitan social liberal internationalist like me and deserves the same treatment that Fascist Germany got: liberal improvement.

However in accordance with my open-door policy the converse does not apply: they still impact Ausitoria's canon.

It's not enough of an issue to even be studied. I'm basing my argument entirely off of logical deduction. If you can't see that, that's not my problem.
