Even as an Asexual AND Anti-Sexual, who dreams of a world without the sin of lust, I find this to be bonkers.

In a perfect world, people will realize that sex (IMO) is a crude, degenerative aspect of biology that should be weeded out through technology such as cloning (just as many diseases have found vaccines), but no human is "superior", and we sure as hell can't force the change if we don't want to appear to be nuts.

What is demisexuality, if I may ask?

I memory serves, it's a person who only experiences sexual and/or romantic attraction to a person they already have a strong emotional bond with.

So they aren't a person who is ever going to fall in love/lust at first sight, or develop a romantic interest in a stranger or an acquittance, but if they are given time to form other emotional bonds sometimes a sexual and/or romantic interest can grow out of it.

The one person I know who considers themselves one actually thought they were asexual until they feel in love with a very close friend (they have many friends, but it only happened with one of them). Thankfully for them the feelings were reciprocated, and the two of them are very happy together.

I have nothing against asexuality, but it being the best form of sexuality? Heh, doubtful.

Really? How? There isn't any particular advantage to asexuality, it would just remove the love/pleasure element added in by partnered sexuality. If anything, it may have a adverse impact on our society by making us more apathetic to the needs of others.

My friends, there is too much societal strain being caused from clashes of love, romance, and sex. Ever since the sexual revolution of the 20th century:

The divorce rate is around 30-50%, psychological research has revealed that rejection affects the same part of the brain that deals with physical pain, there is still too far much rape occurring, family conflict such as wife beating is a serious problem, religions are forced to contain vestiges of intolerance due to their hateful rules on interfaith marriages, people are depressed due to breakups, rejection, and adultery, and sexualization of women and men paints a horrible portrayal in the media, setting poor standards for society such as children being compelled to adhere to ideals of gender. Moreover, there is also too much intolerance of alternate sexualities such as homosexuality.

Now, given that cloning is on the cusp of being unlocked, and some have advocated for a voluntary extinction movement, should human consider asexuality to become the dominant sexuality?

I would argue that yes. The benefits of sexuality do not outweigh the negative consequences. Self-satisfaction of genitalia can be had without sexual arousal, so that feeling would not be missed.However, I do not support the voluntary extinction movement, so cloning will be forced to suffice. Furthermore, given the differences in male and female sexual responses during intercourse (including the fact that women need not rest after orgasm), sex is an unequal activity and thus is unethical and inherently matriarchal.

Since asexuality isn't a state a person can normally choose (any more than being attracted to men/women/etc is), it doesn't make a lot of sense to be urging people to adopt it. No, you're essentially urging people to become celibate, not asexual. Unless you're also advocating some manner of psychological/neurological means of putting everyones brain into the right frame of mind.

Further - asexuals can, and do quite often, still have relationships (romantic, though some also submit to sex if they are with a non-asexual partner). Humans are a social animal, what makes you think if sex was absent they'd suddenly stop pairing up for whatever reason? None of the downsides you listed there are solely connected to sex, and wont disappear if sex does. Never mind why you imagine rapists, who rape for assorted messed up reasons, would pinkie swear to stop raping and give asexuality.
