Nah. One, you're not bringing the light to a sharp focus, just reducing its area by half. Two, you're turning the light into food, not passively letting it heat you. You can also coat the lens to reflect IR light; that's expensive, but not impossible. Cheaper would be just letting it absorb the IR, and heat up instead.

so you don't know how conservation of energy works do you?
turning light into "food" means absorbing it, and thus a great deal of heat.

I'm quite familiar with the concept, thanks. Light energy converted into chemical energy can't show up as thermal energy also.
