The Nazis, obviously. I will be explaining my reasons below:

The Nazis are obviously opposed to our form of government. But not at the same level as the Soviet Union. It would be much easier to be friendly with a country that sees you as a nuisance, than one that sees you as literally the Devil Incarnate.

The Soviets. But it's a really, really close call. The Soviets seem to be more incompetent than anything, and we could probably help them with that and in the process veer them back towards capitalism. The Nazis, though? They want to kill people, and it's only a matter of years before they move from removing them from German society to removing them entirely IMO.

Bolshevism and the threat is poses to both American and all other Western societies has to be contained. Indeed, we have many things in common with the German nation; our desire to rectify the problems brought on by The Great War, our similarities in government support of economic activity to rescue Capitalism from its greatest excesses, rather then scrapping it for some, god forbid, Communist system. Not to mention, the Germans aren't making the most unreasonable in the world; if ethnically German territories wish to join with Germany, we ought to support that over Soviet domination of its various ethnic groups. We also have much closer economic and social ties to the Germans, and if they are willing to keep their excesses confined to areas in which self-determination would likely lead to them joining Germany anyway, if not for the terms of Versailles (in which, I might remind you, the Entente we funded, fed and saved sold out Wilson's points and ideals and turned the war into another colonial land-grab), where as the Soviets and their call for global revolution can not possibly be translated as anything remotely friendly to our capitalist (if somewhat interventionist) society.

But by Austrian and German Cooperation they have broken the Treaty of Versailles. Besides Socialism isn't that bad at all. I may be one of the few Americans whom have read Karl Marx's works. I quite like these ideas.

I don't care for Chancellor Hitler, I must say, nor do I like the direction he's taking Germany. The murderous purge last year with which he removed his rivals is not how the leader of a European nation should behave. Nor do the stories coming out of Russia make me like Mr. Stalin and his "comrades" any better.

Perhaps it'd be best to ride safely in the middle ground by making sure the both of them wear each other down completely.

Mind you, while Germany's army is a joke, it's safe to say that with Hitler's book in mind, we'll see them rearm in earnest soon enough for a war against the Soviet Union. I don't believe an Europe under Stalin's boot is in our interest at all - which is what we're looking at in case of a German defeat in this hypothetical war. One might say a German victory is just as unpleasant for us - but really, how large are the odds that Germany, after an exhaustive war with the Russians, will still have the power to dictate anything in Europe even if they do win?

If one scores a total strategic victory, it may just end up being capable of threatening us. It will likely be possible for the Soviet Union to achieve that if they bring Europe under their control considering their population size and thus manpower reserves. Germany, on the other hand, doesn't have the manpower necessary to control all of Europe.

And guys, I don't need to tell you just how uneasy this piece of British North America just above us on the map makes me feel, do I? Just in case Germany does turn its eyes to the West and bests the Brits, well, there's someone to pick up those scraps. If it doesn't, we can go around and help them with war-important materials - for a decent price, of course.
