How are you a senior and don't have a job? I was picking rocks for farmers at 14, an iron worker at 16 and then I worked construction in college.

I work two jobs. My main job is at a local company where I am in I.T. as a desktop/network tech, I am also responsible for the desktop image creation for the company that is used by many of the different entities of the company, anywhere from drug testing, pain and addiction, etc.
My second job is a contract job, where I am my own boss and maintain the infrastructure of a school.

I have held many types of jobs, anything from factory work, construction, electrical and many other shit jobs, but they all paid the bills, but I prefer the type of work I do now.

Think about it this way. Good performance in HS can pay off far more than a job in scholarships and merit based aid in college.

I freelance in film and television production. Sometimes I'm a production assistant (entry level fetch monkey who performs tasks not specified by others to facilitate production...including getting people coffee or picking people up from the airport or wrangling extras or whatever), sometimes I'm a location audio mixer (putting mics on people, holding a boom pole, monitoring the levels, etc.), rarely I'm a grip/electric (building and cutting the lights), and sometimes I'm everything making internet videos for local businesses for Groupon or Yellow Pages or whatever.

As of late I've been filling in the gaps by teaching saxophone.

Occasionally, my car gets hired instead of me.

Though I'm licensed to sell life and health insurance in Illinois, I don't. I work full time in a general agency quoting life insurance, as well as disability and long term care insurance, the occasional annuity, and, rarely, critical illness and accident insurance.

For my part in the back-office support we provide to agents and brokers, I explain the differences between the products and insurance carriers we quote, and help determine the right plan and design to meet a particular client's situation.

Even more specifically, much of my day is spent seeking alternatives for impaired risk life applicants who have been declined by the fraternal benefits society we partner with, and/or summarizing medical records to obtain a preliminary assessment of risk from underwriters, so the quote we provide is as accurate to the client's health as possible before they begin the application process.

Edit: this is my first significant job. I did work at Kohl's November-December 2011 as a seasonal employee; I spent more on the shirts to work there than I was paid for my three days of service.
