Oh Navy, where would us humble Marines be without you?

Nowadays I work doing auto body at a local service truck contracting company here in Ohio.
So I sand trucks down with an arsenal of tools, take smoke breaks, paint trucks down, take another smoke break, and chit chat with my colleagues. It's boring, very boring.

Before I did some work at a steel mill in South Carolina, did some highschool football coaching. Still young, thinking of going back to school.

That's another thing, despite the common perception of me as anti-Union by alot, I love my union that I work with. Some of the nicest people around.

But I do agree with that. I also don't like the MLBPA that much, either.

My school's janitor was related to the person who was the leader of that massive umpire strike that I believe you're referencing.

Depends, some interns get payed and some don't, so I don't know if you are getting money for your services to the business, but if you are then it would be considered a job.

I get student's financial aid form national insurance institution, lunch support money from school and two grants from two different sources; because this is international internship, but company itself doesn't pay me aanything besides up to 2€ lunch from cantina.

Do you use the standard M4 Carbine/M16 rifle or are you allowed to select your own standard weapon or are you assigned a different one altogether like some of the other SFs?

Did you join the SWCC straight out after joining the U.S. Navy or introduced to it at a later date?

Been looking into doing self-employed as a roleplaying game publisher, commissioned Nazi Flower Power to do some artwork for a book of short stories that tie in with the RPG stuff.

Yeah, I do use traditional media more than digital, and those sorts of hands-on trades do appeal to me more than going back to office work.

Aside from what I already posted, I have also considered the possibility of learning a construction trade like carpentry or welding, which would open up more employment opportunities. I have a little bit of experience with welding and woodworking, but no formal certifications.

You could try Bricklaying. Bricklayers in the UK are almost universally self employed (I cant say much for what's it like in the US) which means its very flexible working hours wise, there's a constant supply of work since, like, 90% of buildings in the UK are brick and its always challenging. You can never plan your day with Bricklaying.

Its also really nice getting to point out your achievements. God knows how many times we've driven somewhere and my dad has pointed out an estate he built.

I don't have a driver's license, but I could get one if I have to, and bricklaying sounds like more fun than an office job.

I work as an English Teacher for adults in Beijing, China.

At my particular school, the students are about 70% female, and with a median age of mid-20s. The pay is fairly good, especially with the awesome spending power in China. So yeah, it's pretty awesome.

I tried that in Shijiazhuang and Shanghai. Never lived in Beijing, but Shijiazhuang is close enough that I could visit Beijing regularly, and I love that part of China.

I might try it again if things don't work out for me in the States.
