Sometimes I'm a production assistant (entry level fetch monkey who performs tasks not specified by others to facilitate production...including getting people coffee or picking people up from the airport or wrangling extras or whatever), sometimes I'm a location audio mixer (putting mics on people, holding a boom pole, monitoring the levels, etc.), rarely I'm a grip/electric (building and cutting the lights), and sometimes I'm everything making internet videos for local businesses for Groupon or Yellow Pages or whatever.
As of late I've been filling in the gaps by teaching saxophone.
Occasionally, my car gets hired instead of me.

I negotiate derivative, securities, repo, and commodities OTC trading master agreements and related appendices/annexes for and with a variety of well known international financial organisations.
I've pretty much sold my soul to banks, hedge funds, and international finance, and don't get paid anywhere near enough for it.

Looking to retry joining the RAF, just make sure you keep your fitness up as you wait for your start date for training. Been caught out by the fitness test at RAF Halton on the pre-recruit training course.
Regard aside from attempting to join the RAF I've been in and out of work over the past five years, though managed to get a job at a local cinema (as in one that shows films) back in December. Been looking into doing self-employed as a roleplaying game publisher, commissioned Nazi Flower Power to do some artwork for a book of short stories that tie in with the RPG stuff.

Ha yeah I was worried about being caught out as well. It's been about two months since I've passed my PJFT and despite calling the London AFCO at least every two weeks, my application process isn't moving along so it's frustrating to just keep working on my fitness without taking the test.

Yeah, does take a while to get a start date depending on what trades are open and spaces at Halton.
Curious, what trade you looking at doing?
My choices have been MT Driver, Mover or Supplier.

At my particular school, the students are about 70% female, and with a median age of mid-20s. The pay is fairly good, especially with the awesome spending power in China. So yeah, it's pretty awesome.
Good luck to everyone back in Babylon. Seriously, everything I've heard these days is just that it's getting worse and worse for those looking for work there. You're always welcome here though! Way more demand for native English speakers than we have available here, so... ^__^

If you say so.
Having to search for months to find a fucking minimum wage job where I was treated like shit just about every day and then got canned the picosecond "sales weren't projected to be as high any longer", and just about literally told if I joined a union, I'd get fired over it - all despite having two university degrees wasn't much fun in my experience. I guess it was technically a job though. While it lasted. Meh.
I definitely like this gig in China better.

Whatever works for you. I've yet to experience any issues in both countries I've worked in.
