Hope or Belief, I don't care. They must at least be a tad convinced.

I'm not, and while it's possible I just happen to be one of a very small minority who are exceptions to this rule, I somehow doubt it.

Except (as it's likely been pointed out) science only answers relativistic truths... that is to say, very specific questions. There doesn't need to be absolute truth in order for science to be effective.

This Debate is simply an exercise in Rhetoric. Truth is a fickle being with no intentions of showing itself today.

Science can tell us almost any trait we want to know about anything, it can tell us the size, shape, weight, color, temperature, density and even the molecular structure of an object, but none of these things even matter if we can not be sure that the object even exists. The entire study of any science depends on truth being absolute, but their is no atheistic justification for believing in it. It is ironic that those who say their alleged disbelief in God is based on reason have absolutely no reason to believe in the very things on which they base their reason!

What do you think about this line of reasoning? I think it makes a lot of sense.

Well, this is sure to be moronic. :palm: This reminds me of when I was in university and a student claimed that the education systems in communist countries couldn't be effective because they didn't teach about god and jesus. :eyebrow:

Everything is irrelevant, nothing actually exists. We cannot by any means substantiate the existence of any means thereof. There is no way for existence to begin, nor a way for it to end once started.

Should there be a god, one could ask as to how said god came to exist. If that god willed itself into existence, from whence came the willpower without any existence prior? If that god always existed, how is it that everything else in the universe hasn't always existed?

There is only one truth, that there is none.
There is only one absolute truth, that the truth is absolute bullshit.

We don't explain the world through the case of "Absolute truth". We explain the world as "Shit we don't know, but we have some idea about how much we don't know about it"
So yeah, basically rampant relativism to the extent that chaos reigns, thousand years of darkness, and the shadows creep at night. But can you honestly tell me that that's anymore batshit insane then your magical sky-man? Much less the fact that most people think of god as having HUMAN form. The bullshit we come up with, I swear.

The only god I might be slightly comfortable with would be Spinoza's god, and maybe in that way I'm not a true atheist (maybe I should say, "Absolute Atheist" ). But the idea that a sky-man who SO CONVENIENTLY COINCIDES WITH WESTERN CULTURE is looking down on you and helping you and guiding you and basically dictating your life is bullshit.

Carlin said it best, "If there is a god, may he strike me dead!"

I'll be back tomorrow to prove I'm still alive.

Bullshit, have you been in an American school recently? I have, and that whole spiel about "Separation of Church and State" stops literally right outside the fucking door. Can't tell you how many fucking crosses, Christmas decorations and all that other shit I've seen in there, spewed forth more commonly than fucking textbooks and desks at times. It's a fucking mockery.

Well in theory the schools should be secular and in my area even if most people are christian we don't do Christmas play's or anything but the time I went to West Virginia to see my cousins school or whatever and a game they did a big fucking biblical Christmas play at a public school!
