Just because it is not stated in black and white doesn't mean it isn't in the constitution.

That was my point, the term exists outside the constitution, specifically from one of our presidents. the idea however exists in our Constitution.

That was mostly directed at Phoenix, not you

Thanks. My point was that knowing god does not in some way ensure you know happiness and safety. It is not some sort of shield, nor is it some sort of cure all.

Agreed. People idealize it because it feels better that way. Unfortunately, ideals don't always pan out.

No, brain cancer. I was, in some ways a very religious person at the time.

I used to be religious at the time my grandmother began to slip away. Prayed a lot, and for a moment I thought it worked. Her passing didn't really affect my faith, since I didn't really believe in miraculous recoveries anyway.

Your reasons are completely subjective. You have yet to provide some legitimate objective reasons.

First of all, don't flame.
Second of all, opinions have to earn respect.
Last, but not least, the phrase is "don't shove your beliefs down my throat", and that's hardly what we are doing. Criticism is not censorship.

Enjoy. Now you are aware it is natural.

Jermerica wrote: Im not a homophobe I'm just not in support.

Homophobia is defined as an irrational aversion to homosexuality. It's quite a wide range of behaviours that fall under being categorized as homophobia.

The issue is do you have a reason to be opposed to same-sex couples being allowed to marry each other?

Jermerica wrote:But they don't infringe my rights so they can live thiers i live mine.

Same-sex marriage equality results in you having less marriage rights? It doesn't work that way.

You passed judgement. You said SSM is offensive. And the basis of your beliefs is that you think homosexuality is wrong.

I...hoped. The reason it affected me so badly is because of the way in which he died, not so much that he died. It changed me in a few ways, it made me question, in a way my religious studies class never did. It also made me decide that even if god did exist, it was me who had to take action, that whether or not it existed, I would have to be the one to change my world.

Mind your own business.

No one is forcing you to get married to a person of the same sex.

Do you think God would approve if I just sat back and let sin win? It seems like the easiest thing for me to do, but the right thing is not always the easy thing.

According to you it is sin. Other Christians, including homosexual Christians, don't believe that homosexuality is a sin. You don't get to decide what is a sin or not.

Feel free to revel in your victory. I did not read through the thread. In fact, I didn't read anything other than one post on the page. You didn't beat me to anything. We both reached the same outcome independently by our own doings.
