Again, marriage is secular institution, there is not sanctity to it. Second, you have yet to explain how having two people marry defiles its...sanctity. Especially considering you have marriages between heterosexuals that only last a day.

Nobody wants churches to be forced to perform gay weddings. Marriages can be secular and performed by the state. It doesn't touch the church unless the minister complies.

It'd be like crying oppression when the African American Society of Engineers (made it up) doesn't allow admission to an Asian guy. Not oppression, just exclusion because you didn't meet the qualifications. If gay civil unions had all the same rights as marriages, why would you still need marriage? Please tell me.

no one is forcing you to accept every gay marriage ever. basically every law ever allows churches to choose not to marry gay coupes if they don't want to.

Since again marriage is a civil institution entirely separate from any religions institution, no it isn't. You want a word special to religious marriage, use matrimony.

If they are differentiating a term for which all the legal benefits are exactly the same, then that is by definition discrimination. It is probably the best example of how separate but equal does not exist.
