Praying doesn't do much but to address your question about the Big Bang why did it happen the thing is we don't know but that's what's great about science it drives to find the solution instead of saying it knows all of the answers!

No. It did not just happen. Dr. Stephen Hawking explains in his book "The Grand Design" the present understanding of how the universe came into existence, and how it is that a deity is unnecessary to explain the universe's existence.

Good question! Have you heard of the term "Omnipotent?" The root Omni means "every," it comes from the Latin word omnis which means "all." Potent, as you are probably aware, means 'powerful.' Thus, the adjective "omnipotent" would imply that God is All-Powerful.

Ergo, a God is an all-powerful being.

Now, how does it work? That's an excellent question. As mortal creatures we cannot understand an all-powerful being or even comprehend how it would work. Sure, we humans have developed amazing technologies. We've gained the ability to travel to the moon and send probes across planets. In the dawn of the 20th century we were able to fly without natural wings. Before that we developed several technologies that make the lives of countless people rather convenient. The fact that you are reading this proves that you are well aware of some of these technologies (electricity, the computer/smartphone, the internet.)

Because we cannot comprehend this all-powerful being, we are not completely certain how it created the universe. We Christians believe that God managed to do so, that He created the world in seven days (although some argue as to the exact meaning of 'day' in the Bible, which you ought to read for context at least.) But as an all-powerful being much of what He does is mysterious and baffling.

But then we see His Creation. This Universe that He created. Now since you are not Christian this truth may be hard to swallow, but that's why the Church is here to demonstrate these truths to you. But, as my fellow Brother in Christ stated, God granted us Free Will, which is something that many seem to take for granted.

To address your other point: free will does not violate cause and effect because one's actions would still cause certain repercussions/consequences, that in turn demonstrate cause and effect. Such events can be as mundane as crossing the road (only to get to the other side.) Or breaking into a car (thus damaging the vehicle by shattering its window and removing objects from it.)

Finally, the term 'spiritual' refers to a state of mind in which a person feels deeply devoted to some idea/cause/person, to the point where said idea/cause/person becomes an extremely important part of their lives. They also begin to believe in that idea/cause/person to the extent that they fail to question it or become unable to fully comprehend how one could not understand or believe in that idea/cause/person. One can argue that Christianity, among other religions, has this trait, and that is true. But we Christians know well that God will grant us rewards in heaven as long as we continue to believe in Him, even if outsiders may find such beliefs strange and perhaps amusing, or at worst threatening.

Posts like this are not useful. When you're the one who wants to initiate/participate in a debate, it's your responsibility to bring a basic understanding of the subject or a willingness to look stuff up online. This isn't a case of "there are problems with this argument, but I can't be bothered to name them". The entire argument is so wrong that you wouldn't have made it after a cursory reading of Wikipedia (Big Bang) or high-school physics.

This isn't supposed to be some elitist put-down of people who don't have the scientific background - looking stuff up and asking questions is how education is supposed to work. If you were asking people to explain cosmology and the Big Bang theory to you, it'd be a completely different situation, and I think people here would love to. But posting a nonsensical misinterpretation of something, and then demanding people refute it, contributes neither to your knowledge nor that of others.

My theory?

1) Since science has proven so far that the universe seems infinite, my theory is that our "universe" as we know it is actually on a weird timeline where we are not only moving around the sun, but also moving on some never ending line (or circle) of time. So the further and further out we travel we are traveling back (or forward) in time. This would mean that every planet in this universe would be at different points in time. And if we were ever able to land on another planet they would be either further ahead or further behind our technology.

2) This is very far fetched but, I also think that maybe we are an experiment made by another race. Like our entire universe would be in a large glass bowl in a laboratory and everything we know is totally fake. Our intelligence, our technology, our animals, our plants, all were already discovered and are now being used to see if life and everything else could be made completely artificially and survive. This would mean that our deception of time would also be distorted. Like maybe a year of our time would be a day of theirs. Again this one is far fetched but is a possibility in my mind.

Unless the other universe operates on inconceivably exotic physics. The question is to figure out how to tell if we are a simulation and whether we can observe the universe simulating ours. I find it perfectly possible, although hard to collect data for or against. I think scientists are already working on designing experiments to test this.
