Ugh, California is setting itself up for a catastrophe. Well, its not setting itself up, it's just been very unlucky as of late. Sluggish economy, mass exodus of the middle class, and influx of immigrants generally isn't a good mixture.

You think California has problems, come live here. California has it good compared to us. Today, on local radio they were talking about our island being hit by the triple whammy.

1. Our island population went down. Young adults of working age have and are leaving by droves. Most to Florida.
2. We have more seniors. More Seniors on the island are even working.
3. Less kids being made.

Add all the above to an island government that is facing economic problems which kind of resembles Greece and you get a great formula for an economic and social break down. Less people means less money so who is going to pay the foreign investor bonds.

Seems PR. needs to have more control over its island affairs or independence. Thus we can control the outflow of people. Also, we can get more foreign investment since relying just on US investment is not really working any longer.
