Nearest I can tell aside from the usual Racial tensions of the time. Which flared up a few times during the first six years, Californios were treated pretty well by the standards of the time.
There was the "greaser" law which was used by police to arrest them unjustly, but all that bias and racism evaporated after the civil war, and the tons of settlers of all ethnic groups (the image is of white folk, but it was not just angelos, irish, a lot of germans, african americans too...) went west.

There's still a lot of racial tension in some areas, but that seems largely involved in the gang scene.

Perhaps. Sadly, Mexican cartels and latino gangs such as the MS 13 are the prime actors in the human trafficking scene. It won't go up overnight, but it has risen. I feel like there are other ways to combat those such as better law enforcement in Mexico, as well as the legalization of drugs here. But for the time being, human trafficking is always something to look out for. Also, from what I can get bout immigration, it just seems like something that remains better unsolved. (For politicians of course, for immigrants and low wage workers, hell nah)

Actually, the question of whether the Mexicans were White or Indian is a question that was huge in how the USA justified its war with Mexico. I could really write another OP on it if I cared to.

All people have the inherent right to be a majority in their own land. This has been white country since the 1840s, much longer than it was ever Mexican land (a mere 27 years).

The United States was founded by Anglo-Saxons with bits of Dutch, Scots-Irish, and German. You could argue that it was civic nationalism that brought these separate ethnic groups together to become American. But now, it's for the best consider white Americans as a standalone group than break them down into Irish, English, and German.
